Is the free version a trial?
There is a trial and there is a free tier, and they are different things. When you install Cullora you get 14 days of the full Pro version, with no card and no account needed. After that it does not stop working: it becomes the free tier, which files 50 photos a month anonymously or 200 a month with a free account, forever, and never expires or asks for a card. So the trial ends and the free version does not.
Will Cullora ever become a subscription?
No. Culling runs entirely on your machine and costs us nothing per photo, so charging you monthly would be rent rather than a service. Buy it once and it is yours. The only thing that could ever carry a subscription is a hosted service with genuine running costs, such as web galleries we host for you, and that would be a separate, optional product that has nothing to do with culling.
What happens when a new version comes out?
You are buying Cullora 1. Every update to it is free, forever, and your copy never expires or nags. Roughly every 18 to 24 months there is a major version, Cullora 2, and that is a separate purchase rather than part of this one: half price for existing owners, and free if you bought within twelve months of its release. Skip it and your Cullora 1 keeps working exactly as it did the day before. Founders pay at most €19 for any major version, for as long as Cullora exists.
How many photos can I cull for free?
Look at, rate, flag, zoom and compare as many as you like: there is no limit on viewing, ever, and no limit on the size of a shoot. The limit is only on filing, which is the moment a photo actually moves to a folder. Your first 14 days are unlimited with no account at all. After that the free tier files 50 photos a month, and a free account raises that to 200 a month permanently. For a few sessions that is plenty. For a wedding it is not, which is the honest reason Pro exists: if you are filing thousands of photos a month, this is your job, and €49 once is the price of the tool that does it.
What do I actually get for €49 today?
Unlimited filing instead of the free tier's monthly allowance, nine destination folders on Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+9 instead of one, ratings and flags written to XMP sidecars so Lightroom sees your pass, renaming into a client convention as you file, static gallery export, and a second machine. Every update to Cullora 1 after that is free.
Do I need an account to use Cullora?
Not to install it, not to start, and not to cull. The 14-day Pro trial asks for nothing at all, and after it ends Cullora keeps working anonymously at 50 photos filed a month. An account is what raises that to 200 a month, free and permanently, so it is an upgrade you take when you want it rather than a gate you pass to begin. It also carries your licence and your lifetime photos-filed count. Downloading from this site does need an account, which is separate and unchanged.
Does Cullora still work offline?
Yes, completely, and the monthly allowance works offline too. Culling never waits on a network call and never asks a server for permission, because that would make the app useless on location. The count is kept on your machine and enforced there, and when you are signed in and online it syncs with your account. Going offline does not give you extra filing, and being offline never stops you culling.
I downloaded Cullora before there was a monthly limit. What happens to me?
Nothing changes for you. Every install that was already in use before the limit existed keeps unlimited filing on the free tier, permanently, and you do not have to claim it or sign in for it. You downloaded on the terms that were advertised at the time, and those are the terms you keep.
How does the founder price work?
Anyone who creates an account before payments go live has a founder licence reserved in their name permanently, with no deadline and nothing to claim. After that, one hundred founder licences are available to new arrivals, and when they are gone they are gone. Founders pay €29 instead of €49, cap any future major upgrade at €19, and receive a starting balance of AI credits plus a permanent discount on credit purchases.
Will AI culling cost extra?
Anything that runs on your own machine is included in Pro at no extra cost, because it costs us nothing to run. If a feature genuinely needs a server, it is sold as prepaid credits: you buy them when you need them, they never expire, and there is no monthly minimum. There will never be a subscription for AI culling.
Which platforms does the price cover?
One licence covers you on both Windows and macOS when the Mac build ships. It is a licence for Cullora, not for one operating system.
Do I need to be online to use a licence I bought?
No. Cullora culls fully offline and always will. Licence checks never block culling, rating, moving or undo, and the app does not phone home to let you work.
